Currently Reading // Be My Baby by Ronnie Spector
I love the title of the book, "Be My Baby; How I Survived Mascara, Miniskirts & Madness or My Life as a Fabulous Ronette." It's so fun! Tom found this book for me while we were at the Goodwill bookstore a few weeks back & i'm so awfully glad he did. Its turning out to be a very entertaining read.

Inspiration // Stan Getz & Lanvin 1968
screen caps by me
While waiting for tom to get ready a couple days ago, i stumbled upon this video of stan getz performing at a lanvin fashion show in 1968. That first outfit is beyond words.
This video is full of my favorite things: bossa nova, 1960s fashion & the french.

Curiosities // Ed Emberley's Drawing Book of Animals
// Scanned by Me
I had never heard of Ed Emberley before I ran across this book a couple days ago. But now that i know that he exists, i must say I'm impressed. This book was published in 1970 & teaches children how to draw animals based on basic shapes they already know. They progress from simple to elaborate. They are quite beautiful, arent they?Listening To: At The Zoo by SImon & Garfunkel

1. Dress // Modcloth
Christian Dior Dress Via Met Museum
The Christian Dior dress looks like the older sibling to this Modcloth dress. They both have the same features, but one is more adult than the other.

Curiosities // The Letterhead
While out & about at garage sales a couple days ago, i ran into this gem. The book is simply titled The Letterhead by Ernst Lehner. It chronicles the general history of the letterhead & gives real modern samples. It is from 1955 & I am so happy I stumbled upon it. Its a real gem.
Each letterhead gives the information of the designer, company and the printer. There are all sorts of methods used for the letterheads too. There are a couple of letter-pressed ones in the bunch. It is just crazy the amount of detail & personality that is displayed through something so simple & everyday. It makes me yearn to have a need for a letterhead.

this into that
It is pretty fascinating that a dress made over forty years is still being replicated nowadays. Dresses with cutouts & bows are very popular and seem so fresh this summer season, but as it turns out, its old news. Either way, both of these dresses are lovely & do not require much accessorizing.

this into that
I like the idea of taking inspiration from vintage clothing, this case being a dress from the 1940's & turning it into a modern & new outfit. I will say I would gladly wear any of these two outfits. That Clare McCardell dress is a dream.
